Dear Plot Holder
We are going to be
holding a plant sale at the site on Saturday 22nd May with all money
raised being used for improvements to the site.
The sale will start at
11.00am for plot holders, before we open it up to others from the
village at 11.30. Please feel free to let anyone who might be interested
know and they will be also be very welcome to come and have a look
around.
There will be a variety
of plants for sale at reasonable prices and if you have any spare plants
or seedlings, donations would be greatly appreciated.
We also have some
second hand tools and books for sale and there will be a cakes, jams and
chutneys stall too and again any donations would be very welcome.
As parking is limited,
it would be good if those who can walk to the site do so, otherwise Egg
Lane might become very congested.

QUIZ

EVENTS.
2019.
QUIZ
We're having a quiz quiz on Sunday 27th January, which will be held in the Bank House and will start at 7.30pm.
Entry will be £1.00 per person with teams of up to 6 people.
There will be a prize of £15 for the winning team, £10 for second place and £5 for third.
All money raised will go towards the construction of a new composting area on the allotment site, so there will also be a raffle (and any offers of prizes would be gratefully received).
The staff at the Bank House have offered to keep the pizza oven fired up so you will be able to order a pizza for the interval.
It would be helpful if you could let me know if you're hoping to come so that we can have a rough idea of numbers.

V.E. Day Commemorations.
4th May 2015.
Like many
villages, Hixon had a great little event organised, on the Millenium
Green, in memory of V.E. Day all those years ago. There were several
military vehicles along with lots of Camouflage Netting, many Cadets and
lots of local historical documentation as well as a few other
attractions including a "Plant Stall." This was of course
organised and run by our "Allotmenteers" and many thanks must
go to everybody who helped, both on the day and those who provided the
wide range of plants to sell. After a donation to the M.G.T. (Millennium Green Trust)
we raised £68.20 from the stall.
A few days later the
remaining plants were taken to another local event to help them raise
funds and then finally those plants still left were placed on the
allotments for people to help themselves to with a little request that a
small donation be left, at the Allotment's Secretary's house, to go to
the funds. (Several additional pounds have been added to the tally in
the last few days.)
Millenium Green/Village
Hall Celebrations.
4th of June
2013.
As part of the National Jubilee
Celebrations the village will hold a fundraiser on Bank holiday Monday,
on the Millenium Green if fine and in the Village Hall if necessary.
Hixon Allotments have agreed to have
a plant/vegetable stall.
Any plant donations or assistance
will be very welcome.
Donations can be made on the day to
the stall.
